Carpet Repair

I repair localized carpet damage when the surrounding carpet and backing are still serviceable. Depending on the problem, I may patch a section, repair a seam or resecure an edge.

What I assess

When this repair may be suitable

  • Burns, tears or pet damage
  • Open seams or frayed edges
  • Small stained sections that will not clean
  • Loose carpet at a doorway or transition

Matching expectations

A donor piece is normally required for patching. Even matching carpet can show a difference because traffic, cleaning and sunlight change the existing pile.

Repair approach

How I plan the work

1

Inspect pile direction, construction and backing

2

Find a suitable donor piece or customer-supplied remnant

3

Cut and place the repair with the pile aligned

4

Secure the repair and groom the fibres

Photo estimate

Photos that help me assess it

  • A wide photo showing where the damage sits in the room
  • A close-up with the carpet pile brushed naturally
  • Any leftover carpet or a possible donor area such as a closet
